In cooperation with our faculty and ETU Young Office, an awareness event was held for primary school students with special needs during the World Disability Week on May 10-16.

In the event organized with the slogan “Have Fun, Mix, Gain Awareness”, our young people, who brought together the students of Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Primary School and Doğu Akademi Special Rehabilitation Center, shared the joy of children with games and various activities.

Speaking at the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sevinç Namlı, one of the faculty members of the Department of Physical Education and Sports of our Faculty, stated that children who will be the adults of the future should gain awareness at an early age: “In order to prevent individuals with special needs from being exposed to peer pressure and bullying, all our children should be provided with a sense of empathy and awareness of individuals with special needs from an early age. Today, our students organized a very meaningful event with this awareness. Our children had the opportunity to learn while having fun together.”
