Erzurum Technical University (ETU) Technology Teams returned with 4 awards from TEKNOFEST 2024, the world's largest technology festival.

ETU Technology Teams returned to Erzurum by winning awards in 4 different categories at TEKNOFEST, which was held at Adana Şakirpaşa Airport this year with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The Lang Wizards team, consisting of Ali Buğrahan Budak, Seda Nur Yazıcı, Mücahit Öztürk and Ekin Kaya, showcased their competence in the field of artificial intelligence by placing 3rd in Turkey in the Turkish Natural Language Processing category and received great applause. The ETÜ Algronomists team, consisting of Meryem Yazıcı, Kübra Keskin and İlayda Ayvaz, brought an innovative breath to the sector by placing 2nd in Turkey in the Agricultural Technologies category. The ULAK FIE team, consisting of Bilge Erdem Altuntaş, Melih Yiğit Can Çelik, Damla Taşbaş and Ömer Aksu, competing in the Communication Technologies category, made a difference by placing 2nd in Turkey in the Wireless Communication category. The DİHA team, consisting of Fatma Nur Akciğer, İsrafil Alan, Hasan Burakhan Barlak, Cevat Can Aygüler, Ömer Fatih Topal and Bade Nur Karaağaç, competing in the international arena, managed to make their name at the top by winning the Performance Award in the International Unmanned Aerial Vehicles category.

Making an evaluation on the subject, ETÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak stated that this is the first time that they have won a degree at ETÜ TEKNOFEST and said: “Our technology teams have been preparing for TEKNOFEST competitions for years. This year, they achieved great success and won 4 awards. Each of our teams that qualified for the finals presented very valuable ideas and projects. During this process, our students worked very hard with their advisors. From time to time, we got together with our students in order to see the distance they have covered and to give them morale. Today, we are experiencing the happiness of winning 4 awards. I believe that this number will gradually increase in the coming years and ETÜ will be one of the partners of the summit in many fields. On the other hand, our stands have become the center of attention of visitors this year as well, just like every year. We hosted thousands of technology enthusiasts at our stands. In addition, the main architects of this prestigious event, TEKNOFEST Board of Directors and T3 Foundation Board of Trustees Chairman Selçuk Bayraktar, Defense Industries President Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, ITÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal and ROKETSAN Board Chairman Prof. Dr. Faruk Yiğit also visited our stands and received information about the work done by our teams. Seeing what the young minds of our country can do in this special event is one of the biggest indicators that our future is in safe hands. On this occasion, I once again wholeheartedly congratulate our teams and wish them continued success,” he said.
