The Rector of Erzurum Technical University (ETU), Prof. Dr. Bulent Cakmak, met with students with special needs during the International Week of People with Disabilities from May 10-16.
The meeting, held in the Rectorate Meeting Hall, was attended by Rector Cakmak, students with special needs, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ceren Sultan Elmalı, Prof. Dr. Ayse Gurol from the Faculty of Health Sciences, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sevinc Namlı from the Faculty of Sports Sciences. During the meeting, Rector Cakmak engaged with the students, chatting closely with them. He listened to their suggestions and requests regarding the physical facilities of the faculties, accessibility within the campus, and access to available resources in the library. Speaking at the meeting, Rector Cakmak emphasised that they consider the needs of individuals with special needs in all the works carried out on the ETU campus: "We are making steady progress towards becoming an inclusive university. In previous years, we made many arrangements to make our campus more livable and accessible for individuals with special needs. Today, we met with our students to listen to their requests and wishes. In line with this, we will promptly start the necessary work," he said.
