Erzurum Technical University (ETÜ) started orientation programs to accelerate the adaptation process of students who started their first year in the 2023-2024 academic year.
The first of the orientation programs, which will continue for 2 weeks, started with the Faculty of Health Sciences, in order to provide information about the scientific, cultural and sports opportunities offered to students who were placed in ETÜ through the Higher Education Selection Examination (YKS), about the campus and to introduce the ancient city of Erzurum.
ETÜ Rector Prof. attended the program held at the Life Center Conference Hall. Dr. Bülent Çakmak, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Ali Fatih Yetim, Prof. Dr. Ceren Sultan Elmalı, General Secretary Assoc. Dr. Ahmet Dumlu, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Elanur Yılmaz Karabulutlu, academicians and students attended.
Dean Karabulutlu, who took the podium to make the opening speech of the program, stated that they were excited to start the new term and said: "Our faculty is a faculty that is capable of interdisciplinary cooperation and teamwork in the field of health, uses science and technology to improve public health and quality of life, and is respectful to ethical and human values." It has made it its mission to train professionals and trainers equipped with the necessary knowledge. I would also like to mention our faculty building because the opportunities offered to our students have been improved. We are aware that physical conditions are also very important. For this reason, I would like to inform you that we will continue our education and training activities in our building, the construction of which will be completed in a few months. "I hope that you progress and achieve your goals under the guidance of reason, conscience and science on the path you follow to achieve your dreams, and I once again welcome all our students who have newly joined the health sciences faculty family to our faculty," he said.
Rector Çakmak, who came to the podium to make his speech after Dean Karabulut, pointed out that orientation programs are very important and said: “University life will be a turning point for you. Because you will spend 4 years of your life in another city, in a different atmosphere, making new friends and shaping your life. University life is not a process that consists of academic studies alone. I recommend that you take part in cultural and sports activities as well as your classes during your time here. At this point, you should make the most of the opportunities our university offers you. "With these feelings and thoughts, I wish you all success in your new education life," he said.
Following the speeches, the program continued with department introductions and ended with explaining the work done by administrative units and the sports and cultural activities offered to students.
