ETU MUCITPARK Turns Science into Fun

Erzurum Technical University (ETU) MUCITPARK Science and Idea Workshop completed its 2nd Stem Days organized by the intense interest of the people of Erzurum.

Children were introduced to science and technology by MUCITPARK Science and Idea Workshop at the MNG Shopping and Life Center, where the 2nd Stem Days were held. Children, along with their families, participated in many activities at 14 different stands, ranging from wood to virtual reality, robotic software to 3D modeling, video game development to humanoid robot and autonomous device production, and had fun and learned with the guidance of instructors. At the event, unmanned aerial vehicles developed by ETU Technology teams were also showcased, allowing visitors to inspect the vehicles and find answers to their questions.

Adults embarked on a colorful and intriguing journey of science at the stands where various experiments were conducted, participating in workshops such as exothermic reaction, light energy, acid-base, wind energy, and carbon dioxide experiments.

Speaking about the event, MUCITPARK Science and Idea Workshop Coordinator Res. Assist. Ali Necip Nursoy expressed the value of the event in terms of scientific awareness: "We carried out the Stem Days this year for the second time with a much higher participation rate than our expectations. Nearly 10 thousand children participated in experiments with their parents, while a total of nearly 30 thousand visitors toured our stands. It was a great joy for us to see our children experience this excitement. Additionally, students who received education at MUCITPARK showcased their skills in the competitions we organized in 4 categories, namely 3D Modeling, Coding, Computer Game Design, and Industrial Design, during the two-day event. In this process, 540 of our students participated in the preliminary rounds. 221 of them advanced to the semifinals. Today, 63 of our students presented their talents to our judges. In the coming days, the winners of these competitions will be announced, and we will present their awards. I would like to thank our Rector, Prof. Dr. Bulent Cakmak, and all my colleagues who supported us throughout the event process for the event we organized for our children, who are the future scientists and leaders."
