Under the leadership of our university lecturers and with the cooperation of the Provincial Directorate of Public Health, the 14^th November World Diabetes Day event was held in Erzurum Technical University. Within the scope of the event, diabetic diagnoses and blood pressure measurement was made and information about the diabetes was given.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent ÇAKMAK, Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Murat KÜÇÜKUĞURLU, General Secretary Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tuba YETİM, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Elanur YILMAZ KARABULUTLU, Erzurum Provincial Health Director Dr. Gürsel BEDİR, Officer-Sen Provincial Representative Abdullah DUMAN and many students joined to the World Diabetes Day event.

Measures should be taken before getting sick

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent ÇAKMAK indicated that the diabetes is a secret disease and this event would be very useful to create awareness about it.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent ÇAKMAK pointed out that Diabetes is also fed directly by the food we choose and added "It is important to take measures before getting sick. It is difficult to deal with after you got it. I invite our lecturers, students and other staff here and advised them to benefit from this opportunity brought their doorstep.”

Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent ÇAKMAK thanked to the Provincial Health Director Dr. Gürsel Bedir and the academic and administrative staff who contributed to this successful event and wished them success in their work.
