Taiwan Turkey Representative Chih Yang Huang was the guest of Erzurum Technical University (ETU) Rector Prof. Dr. Bulent Cakmak.
The meeting, which was held to evaluate possible collaborations in academic, scientific and technological fields between ETU and Taiwan universities and to exchange ideas on the new generation solar energy panels planned to be produced in Erzurum, was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Fatih Yetim, Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Zafer Aynalı, Faculty of Science faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. İsmail Bezirganoglu and Taiwan-Turkish Businessmen Association President İbrahim Güder.
Following the meeting held at the Rectorate, Rector Cakmak took his guests to ETU High Technology Application and Research Center (YUTAM) and demonstrated on-site the work carried out in the 2D material, imaging systems, additive manufacturing, plant technologies and microbiology laboratory.
Rector Çakmak, who stated that ETU is ready to provide all kinds of support for the realization of high-technology investments in Erzurum, said: “In the past months, we met with our Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mr. Mehmet Sekmek and university and sector representatives in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan. We consulted on the investments planned to be made in our city. On the other hand, we signed cooperation protocols with many universities. Today, we hosted Taiwan Turkey Representative Chih Yang Huang at our university and talked about our infrastructure and technological opportunities. I believe that these meetings we have in the coming period will have concrete outputs.”
Taiwan Turkey Representative Chih Yang Huang, who thanked Rector Cakmak and his team for their hospitality, stated that a strong communication bridge has been formed between Erzurum and Taiwan and that efforts are ongoing to implement joint projects.
