Erzurum Technical University (ETU) Sports Sciences Faculty Physical Education and Sports Teaching 1st year student İbrahim Demirel won the bronze medal in the Interuniversity Judo Turkey Championship organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation.

In the tournament hosted by Sinop University between 2-5 May 2023, where 49 female and 109 male athletes from 31 universities competed, Turkish Judo Youth National Team Athlete Ibrahim Demirel, who sweated in the Men's 73 kg category, took the 3rd place and won the bronze medal for ETU.

Congratulating Demiral and his trainers, Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak stated that ETÜ returns with medals from every tournament it participates in: "We are very pleased that our athletes, who represent our university at national and international level, are on the podium. Last month, we achieved very important degrees in shooting. Today, our national athlete İbrahim, in judo, gave us the same excitement. "This year came the 3rd place, but I believe that he will be at the top next year and will bring the gold medal to our university. Once again, I congratulate our athletes, coaches and teachers and wish them continued success," he said.
