Turkish Academy of Sciences Outstanding Young Scientists (TÜBA-GEBİP) awards were given to their owners at a ceremony.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, TÜBA President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker, President of TÜBİTAK Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, President of Erzurum Technical University (ETU), Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak, university presidents, TÜBA Members and award-winning scientists have attended the ceremony held at Presidential Complex.

Speaking at the program, President Erdoğan expressed his pleasure to host scientists and guests at the Presidential Complex on the occasion of the TÜBA and TÜBİTAK Science Awards Ceremony, Turkey's most prestigious science awards ceremony, and congratulated the scientists who were awarded for their groundbreaking work.

Within the scope of the awards given in 5 different categories, namely Natural Sciences, Engineering Sciences, Social Sciences, Health Sciences and Ahmet and Nezahat Keleşoğlu TÜBA-GEBİP Pharmacy Special Award, ETU Faculty of Arts Turkish Language and Literature Department academic member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Uğur Uzunkaya has received the award he won in the field of Social Sciences from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

After the ceremony, congratulating Assoc. Prof Dr. Uzunkaya ETU President Çakmak said: “It is a source of pride for the entire ETU Family that our teaching fellow was deemed worthy of such an important award as a result of his work on Buddhist Uyghur Literature and that he received his award from our Dear President. I congratulate him once again and wish him continued success.
