This year, 6 names from Erzurum Technical University (ETU) were included in the list of the world's most influential scientists, which is carried out annually by Stanford University. As a result of the evaluations made by Prof. Dr. John P. A. IOANNIDIS from Stanford University and his research team, it was published by the Netherlands-based publishing company Elsevier, which ranks the world's most influential scientists every year.

With the evaluation based on academic performance such as the number of qualified publications, the impact of the journal in which the publications are included, the number of patents, the number of citations, h-index, hm-index, the number of articles, the number of cited articles and the impact of the journal in which they are published, scientists who are entitled to enter two different categories as "Career-Long Impact" and "Annual Impact" were determined.

In the list prepared in 2023, Prof. Dr. Ali Fatih Yetim, Prof. Dr. Salih Akpinar, Assoc. Dr. Mehmet Baygın, Assoc. Dr. Faraz Afsar from the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture and Prof. Dr. Guven Turgut from the Faculty of Science were included in the "Annual Impact" category, while Prof. Dr. Irfan Kaymaz from the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture was included in the "Career-Long Impact" category.
