The evaluation process carried out by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) at Erzurum Technical University (ETU) between December 11-13, 2023 has ended.
The YÖKAK Evaluation Team examined the academic and administrative units of ETU for three days and conducted interviews with academicians, administrative staff and students on various criteria and sub-criteria under the headings of Leadership, Management and Quality, Education and Training, Research and Development, Social Contribution.
During the evaluation process, in which projects carried out for regional and national development and collaborations with external stakeholders were discussed within the scope of the quality assurance system studies carried out at ETU, the YÖKAK Evaluation Team met with Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak, members of the quality commission and members of the senate and received information about quality studies.
The Evaluation Team held separate meetings with the managers and staff of academic and administrative units, and also held meetings with the managers of ETU's external stakeholders in Erzurum and the region and made evaluations on various issues.
Rector Çakmak pointed out that they attach great importance to quality processes: "Since the day we took office, we take quality processes into consideration in every step we take. Our university has made significant progress over the years and has not compromised on quality while growing in terms of quantity. At the point we have reached today, as a result of our application to YÖKAK, the Evaluation Team visited our university and showed us our strengths and aspects open to development. I thank them. I believe that at the end of this process, our university will be accredited and will continue to develop and take firm steps towards the future."
