Erzurum Technical University (ETU), which continues its academic and scientific activities as well as infrastructure works on campus, has been awarded the internationally recognized TS EN ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management System and TS EN ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certificates.

Evaluating its current energy management system performance, ETU has increased its efficiency in the use of energy resources by changing its policies in order to reduce its carbon footprint and protect nature. After the arrangements made, ETU was evaluated by the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TUIRKAK) and received the TS EN ISO 50001 Energy Management System certificate.

In addition, aiming to prevent possible disruptions by reducing the errors and defects of the management system, ETU fulfilled TS EN ISO 9001:2018 Quality Management System standards by making systemic arrangements in its units and was registered by TUIRKAK.

Making statements on the subject, ETU Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak stated that they have made radical changes since 2023 in order to use the university's resources more effectively: "We are making arrangements in all our units in line with the quality policy we have determined. While making these arrangements, we are trying to increase our energy savings by considering the environment and nature. On the other hand, our relevant units are working hard to improve our corporate performance and operating processes. After all our efforts in this context, we applied to TUIRKAK and successfully passed the audits in January 2024 and received our certificates by meeting both the Energy Management System standards and the Quality Management System standards. I would like to thank all our staff who contributed to this process."
