A conference titled "Republican Political Philosophy and the Limits of the Modernization Experience of the Republic of Turkey" was held at Erzurum Technical University (ETÜ).

Prof. Dr. Dean of the Faculty of Letters, Prof., attended the event held at Muammer Yaylalı Conference Hall. Dr. Uğur Akbulut, academicians and many students attended.

Artvin Çoruh University Sociology Department faculty member and political scientist Assoc. Dr. Armağan Öztürk discussed Turkish modernization from a historical and sociological perspective by discussing the basic concepts and values of republican political philosophy.

Pointing out that the Republic has a content generally accepted by the Turkish society, Assoc. Dr. Öztürk pointed out that secularism and nationalism are important elements in the modernization process.

The conference, which continued with students asking questions about the semester, ended with Dean Akbulut presenting a certificate of appreciation to Öztürk.
