Sustainability and Zero Waste Training Held at ETU

A Sustainability and Zero Waste Training seminar was held at Erzurum Technical University (ETU) in order to encourage renewable energy applications and raise awareness in this context.

The event held in the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture with the cooperation of ETU Zero Waste Unit and Ecology Climate Club was attended by Secretary General Assoc. Dr. Tuba Yetim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture Ali Fatih Yetim and many students attended.

ETU Climate Ambassador Meryem Payveren, speaking at the opening of the program, talked about the sustainable green campus activities of Ecology Climate Club and said, “As students, when we complete our university education, we want to see the past years to be productive. For this reason, we continue our club activities with the aim of creating a sustainable, climate-friendly and greener campus. In this direction, we organize various events, competitions and campaigns with the support of our university. With our electronic waste collection campaign, which we started in November, we collect the damaged or unused devices of our professors and fellow students and evaluate them for our university. Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak and our Secretary General Assoc. Dr.  

Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Faculty Member Assoc. Dr. Ece Ümmü Deveci drew attention to the devastating effects of global warming and conveyed the important points to be known about zero waste and sustainable living. Pointing out that the world is the home of all people, Deveci emphasized that every individual should fulfill their responsibilities against climate change.

The program ended with the awarding of certificates to the participants and taking a souvenir photo.
