Health Management Symposium in Turkey from Past to Future on the 100th Anniversary of the Republic hosted by Erzurum Technical University (ETÜ) started.
ETÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak, Erzurum Deputy Governor Lokman Düzgün, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ceren Sultan Elmalı, Erzurum Provincial Health Director Dr. Gürsel Bedir, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Elanur Yılmaz Karabulutlu, Erzurum City Hospital Chief Physician Assoc. Prof. İbrahim Hakkı Tör, Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Deputy assistant General Secretary Murat Altundağ and many academics attended the symposium held on December 18, Health Managers Day.
Department of Health Management and Symposium President Assoc. Prof. Nurşen Aydın came to the podium to make the opening speech of the symposium, which started after a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem in the Prof. Dr. Muammer Yaylalı Conference Hall. Dr. Nurşen Aydın stated that healthcare management is a very difficult profession and that it differs from the managers of other institutions and organizations in that they are faced with many elements that require instant intervention.
Speaking after Assoc. Prof. Aydın, Erzurum Provincial Health Director Dr. Gürsel Bedir pointed out that health management is a job that requires effort and dedication, and stated that they are very pleased with the increase in the number of health management departments and that the qualified human resources trained in these departments will play an important role in the development of health services.
Rector Çakmak, who went to the podium to make his speech, stated that they were pleased to host health managers at ETÜ and said: “Health managers are at the very foundation of the management process by undertaking the roles of planning, organizing, executing, coordinating and controlling all the necessary processes in the service delivery of a health institution. On the other hand, health managers have a key role in the design and implementation of the health system due to health strategies and policies. In addition, the place of professionals in the field of health management is undoubtedly important in the correct management and direction of resources allocated to health services. The participants, who will contribute with their speeches to the symposium that will shed light on the present and future of health management in Turkey and in the world, are especially grateful to the symposium president Assoc. Prof. Nurşen Aydın who contributed to the organization of the symposium.
In the symposium, which will last for two days, experts in the field will discuss health management policies from past to present in 5 sessions, health management in the world, the future of health management, use of technology and artificial intelligence in health management, working conditions and employment of health managers, management of medical services in city hospitals and administrative management in city hospitals. Financial services management issues will be discussed.
