Within the scope of orientation programs at Erzurum Technical University (ETU), Student Community and Clubs Promotion Festival was held.
Within the scope of Orientation Programs, the festival, which was organized to introduce nearly 40 clubs operating within ETU, was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak, vice-rectors, academic and administrative staff and many students attended. Academic advisors and club presidents had the opportunity to meet their new members at the event held in the Life Center Square under the leadership of the Health, Culture and Sports Department. Students had fun with concerts, award-winning competitions and various shows while becoming members of clubs operating in different and beneficial fields in order to see the work of the clubs in the fields they are interested in, to improve themselves in socio-cultural and professional terms, to make good use of their spare time and to gain the habit of having fun together. Rector Bülent Çakmak, who spoke at the opening of the festival, stated that the club promotion festival has become a tradition at ETU: “As of this year, we organize this event traditionally for our newly registered students and nearly 5 thousand students currently studying at our university. I always say that we adopt a student-centered management approach. However, being student-centered is not only possible by expressing this, but by practical activities. As we see our students here, we see how important such events are.”
“We Organize Activities to Contribute to the Social Lives of Our Students”
Rector Çakmak, who gave advice to the students in his speech, stated that the knowledge, skills, experiences and experiences to be gained through activities during university education will reflect positively on their future lives and said: Many factors will be important. For this reason, we especially want you to engage in such activities so that you are prone to teamwork, acquire a culture of working together and be successful in human relations. You can take part in clubs that are suitable for you, but if you think these clubs do not appeal to you, you have the opportunity to establish your own club. With these feelings and thoughts, I hope that our festival will be fruitful for you, our esteemed students, and I wish you all success.” After his speech, Rector Çakmak visited the stands one by one, got information from the club officials and took a souvenir photo with the members.
