Erzurum Teknik Üniversitesi

A Festival-Like Event at ETÜ

Student Societies and Clubs Promotion Festival was organized for the students who started studying at Erzurum Technical University (ETÜ) in the new academic year.

The Student Societies and Clubs Promotion Festival was organized within the scope of the orientation programs organized to enable newly registered students at ETÜ, which started the 2023-2024 Academic Year Spring Semester, to discover the academic, social, cultural and sports opportunities offered by the university and to accelerate their adaptation processes.

ETÜ Rector Prof. attended the event held at the Life Center Square. Dr. Bülent Çakmak, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Ali Fatih Yetim, Prof. Dr. Ceren Sultan Elmalı, Head of Health Culture and Sports Department Levent Çakmur, academic and administrative staff and many students attended.

At the festival organized under the leadership of the Department of Health, Culture and Sports, academic advisors and club presidents gave information to new students about the events they organized in previous years and the programs in their activity calendar this year. While students see the work done by clubs in the fields they are interested in, they become members of clubs operating in different fields in order to improve themselves socio-culturally and professionally, to make good use of their free time and to gain the habit of having fun together; had fun with concerts, award-winning competitions and various events.

Speaking at the opening of the festival, Rector Çakmak stated that the Student Societies and Clubs Promotion Festival is an ETÜ tradition and said: “Such activities are very important for you, our valued students. As you know, we held informational meetings within the scope of orientation programs in all our faculties this week. I underlined this to our first-year students who have newly registered at our university in these programs: Your 4-year university life constitutes an important breaking point for you. Your professional life will be shaped according to the nature of the years you spend here. Therefore, while paying due attention to your lessons during this 4-year period, you need to take part in social, cultural and sports activities, as you do here today. Because when we chat with our graduates, the most important thing that employers look for is whether you have gained additional skills and competencies along with your success in courses. Therefore, be sure to become a member of a club and take part in social responsibility projects. These will play a very important role in your personal development. "I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you all again and wish you a 4 years full of success," he said.

After his speech, Rector Çakmak visited the stands one by one and paid close attention to the students. After getting information about the club activities and participating in the events, he visited the stand of Erzurum City Hospital Organ Transplantation Unit and participated in the organ donation campaign.

The festival ended with the concert of Asrın and Ustatlar.
