2nd International Congress on Health Sciences and Multidisciplinary Approaches Organized at ETU
Erzurum Technical University (ETU) organized the 2nd International Congress on Health Sciences and Multidisciplinary Approaches.
In the congress organized to address the reflections of globalization and environmental issues in health sciences, to share current developments and experiences in these fields, to increase communication and cooperation between health professionals and to bring together scientists and students in our country and at international level, 2 conferences were held and 137 papers were presented.
Delivering the opening speech of the congress organized under the theme of "A Global Power in Shaping the Future: Health Disciplines Together", Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Elanur Yılmaz Karabulutlu stated that there have been unprecedented disasters and humanitarian crises around the world: "In addition to the problems caused by social and humanitarian crises, health workers may unfortunately face attacks against themselves and health facilities. Although the Geneva Conventions and the rules of the international law of armed conflict state that health facilities and personnel in conflict zones must be respected and protected under all circumstances, we can unfortunately see that this aspect of international law is being violated. In these processes where the most basic human right, the right to life, is violated, it is very important that health professionals with the same goal come together more and make decisions about the problems with a common mind. In this sense, I hope that our congress will offer solutions by addressing the crises that we are experiencing today and that we face the danger of experiencing in the future, and that it will reveal innovative and up-to-date strategies that have become mandatory in order to meet the expectations of the globalizing world. I would like to thank Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak, the Rector of our university, for his meaningful support by honoring our congress opening and for his contributions to the realization of the congress, and to everyone who contributed to the organization of our congress, especially our organizing committee, and I wish it to be an effective and productive congress for all of us."
Speaking after Karabulutlu, ETU Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak stated that it is a universal right for everyone to live in a healthy environment: ". From past to present, there have been and continue to be many negativities such as pandemics, earthquakes and wars that affect the whole world. Even in all these unfavorable situations that create a global impact, health workers struggle sacrificially under very difficult conditions. When we look at the recent war conditions that have affected the whole humanity and have been going on non-stop, many health workers have lost their relatives but have not left the field. All these events have created a burden on human consciences, but on the other hand, the value of the endless efforts of healthcare professionals under all circumstances has once again been understood. On this occasion, "A Global Force in Shaping the Future: Health Disciplines Together", I would like to express my belief that our congress will contribute to the development of health sciences by increasing communication and cooperation between health professionals by sharing current developments and experiences in the field of health sciences and I would like to thank those who contributed to the realization of the congress and you, valuable participants."
In the Congress, which was organized online in 7 sessions, academicians who are experts in their fields gave information to the audience by addressing topics such as active aging, cultural approaches in global health changes, current approaches in health sciences, digital transformation in health.
