Erzurum Technical University (ETÜ) achieved great success in the Universities Kickboxing Championship organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation.
In the championship held in Mersin between 15-18 February, where approximately 500 athletes from 81 universities competed in the ring, ETU Kickboxing Men's Team won the first place cup in the Kick Light Category, while the Women's Team came third in the Full Contact category and won the bronze medal.
Vedat Ağyürek in the men's 69 kg Kick Light category, Can Ahmet Bağlar in the 63 kg Point Fighting category, Hakan Koç in the 84 kg Kick Light category and Gökdeniz Yağar in the 67 kg Full Contact category defeated all their opponents and won the gold medal. On the other hand, Muhammed Enes Yanmaz, who competed in the 74 kg Kick Light category, and Furkan Daşdemir, who competed in the 94 kg Kick Light category, took the 3rd place on the podium and won the bronze medal.
Ebru Yakar, who competed in the Women's 60kg Full Contact, came first on the podium and won the 5th gold medal for ETÜ, while Melisa Yıldırım came third in the 60kg Kick Light and won the bronze medal.
