Erzurum Technical University has expanded its library collection with a valuable donation of 12,680 books from Prof. Dr. Turgut Karabey, a distinguished scholar in Turkish Language and Literature. The donated collection includes rare manuscripts, significant divans of classical Turkish poetry, essential biographical anthologies in Turkish literary history, folk tales, epics, modern novels, and literary criticism books. This remarkable collection will enable our students and researchers to delve deeply into the rich heritage of the Turkish language and literature.
During the library ceremony, where two reading rooms were inaugurated in honor of Turgut Karabey, Prof. Dr. Karabey joined Erzurum Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Bulent Cakmak in reviewing the collection and expressed his appreciation for the university’s commitment to preserving this cultural heritage. Rector Cakmak conveyed his deep gratitude to Prof. Dr. Karabey for such a valuable contribution to the university, stating, “This gift, which will connect the literary and scholarly insights of our esteemed professor with future generations, is a unique cultural treasure, with every page holding a wealth of knowledge.”
