Erzurum Technical University (ETU) Engineering and Architecture Faculty Civil Engineering Department took action to conduct investigations in the earthquake area.

Head of Civil Engineering Department Prof. Dr. A team under the presidency of İlker Kazaz will conduct research on the structures in the earthquake zone for 1 week to conduct fieldwork in the region affected by the Pazarcık and Elbistan-centered earthquakes that occurred on February 6, 2023.  

In the project titled "Field Observation Study After the 6 February 2023, Kahramanmaraş Pazarcık and Elbistan Earthquakes" supported by TÜBİTAK 1002-C Natural Disasters Focused Field Study Emergency Support Program, Dr. Instructor Member Dilek Reader, Dr. Instructor Member Muhammed Gürbüz, Res. See. Burak Gedik and PhD students Ensar Didin and İsmail Hakkı Bilge.

Stating that the aim of the field study is to evaluate the earthquake performance of reinforced concrete structures built after 2007 and to examine the historical masonry structures in situ, Prof. Dr. İlker Kazaz stated that an evaluation report will be prepared as a result of the fieldwork and an information event will be organized accordingly.
