Afforestation Protocol between ETU and Erzurum Regional Directorate of Forestry

A protocol of “Afforestation of the University Campus Area” was signed between Erzurum Technical University and Erzurum Regional Directorate of Forestry.

The protocol regarding the afforestation studies to be carried out with suitable species in the empty areas within the Erzurum Technical University Campus was presented at the Erzurum Regional Directorate of Forestry Meeting Hall, on behalf of Erzurum Technical University, Rector. Dr. It was signed by Bülent Çakmak and Erzurum Forest Regional Director Oktay Ayatay on behalf of the TR General Directorate of Forestry.

Making evaluations after the signing ceremony, Erzurum Regional Director of Forestry Oktay Ayatay said, “Within the scope of the National Afforestation Campaign, we are carrying out important studies for the afforestation of suitable areas of public institutions and organizations. With this protocol, we aim to make the campus green by afforesting all the empty areas in the Erzurum Technical University Campus area. After the afforestation works are completed, our joint maintenance and protection works will continue for 3 years.

Starting his speech by thanking Erzurum Regional Directorate of Forestry for hosting the signing ceremony, Erzurum Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Bulent Cakmak; “We are very happy that our afforestation works will be carried out more systematically with the protocol signed between our University and Erzurum Regional Forestry Directorate, which has attached great importance to afforestation activities in the campus area since the day it was founded. With these activities, we aim to create environments where our students and members can carry out their educational, cultural and sports activities in a greener environment and breathe comfortably. I wish this protocol to be beneficial for our University and our city, and I would like to thank our Erzurum Regional Director of Forestry, Oktay Ayatay."
