The first progress meeting of the project titled “Developing rainfall frequency models for critical infrastructure design in a changing environment RainChange”, led by Prof. Dr. Fatih Tosunoglu from Erzurum Technical University (ETU) Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Civil Engineering, and Dr. Thomas Kjeldsen from the University of Bath’s Department of Civil Engineering in the United Kingdom, was held at ETU.
During the meeting, the effects of climate change on extreme precipitation were discussed. Expressing his satisfaction with the warm welcome and close attention, Dr. Kjeldsen stated that such collaborations and global partnerships would make significant contributions to scientists in solving the complex problems caused by climate change.
After the meeting, the project coordinators, Prof. Dr. Tosunoglu and Dr. Kjeldsen, visited ETU Rector Prof. Dr. Bulent Cakmak to discuss both the project and potential future collaborations between the two universities.
