Erzurum Technical University (ETU) Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak participated in 'The Voice of the East' program on TRT Erzurum Radio and answered Ömer Ergedik's questions.

Rector Bülent Çakmak shared the details of Erzurum Technical University's success in 2021 within the scope of the Accessible University Awards. He stated that they achieved an important success in becoming a barrier-free university by receiving 5 flags in the category of accessibility in the organization held on the occasion of the Disability Week, at the online event, which was held with the participation of our Minister of Family and Social Services Derya Yanık, and the President of the Council of Higher Education Prof. Dr.  Yekta Saraç.  

Rector Bülent Çakmak stated that they have been working for a long time in order to fulfill the necessary conditions in order to be a candidate for the Accessible University Awards given by YOK. He stated that in this context, the construction of special walking paths, disabled elevators, and ramps for disabled students and staff has been completed so that disabled people can benefit from campus life more efficiently.

Emphasizing that they have a student-centered management approach, Rector Bülent Çakmak said: “We are trying to make all the necessary arrangements so that students with special needs who will choose ETU can benefit from all academic, social and cultural opportunities equally and fairly. This award, which we received from YOK, was a good fruit of our efforts and provided us with motivation for our work in this field in the coming period. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made an effort to fulfill such an important mission.”
