The "Field-Based Competency Analysis of Universities" created by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) has been updated and published with the new term data.
In order to ensure that the performances of universities on the basis of research fields can be evaluated comparatively with each other, the "Field-Based Competency Analysis" Report of Universities, which has been published since 2016, enables the analysis of the competence levels of universities in all research areas carried out within their own body.
Within the scope of the competency analysis study, in which all universities established in 2018 and before, including Erzurum Technical University (ETU), were evaluated, the data related to publications and citations were based on the years 2019-2021, while the data on projects was based on the period of 2019-2022.
Evaluating the results of the report, ETU Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak stated that ETU has a rising graph compared to previous years: “In the study in which 131 sub-research areas were evaluated, our university succeeded in providing competence in 50 sub-research areas. In addition, it was an important indicator for us to be in the 1st region, which has the best level in both volume and quality indicators in 18 of our areas of competence. As a matter of fact, compared to the previous reporting period (2021), the number of competence areas of our university increased from 29 to 50, and the number of competence areas in the 1st Region increased from 6 to 18. With these results, the success rate of our university increased from 22% to 38%.
