Erzurum Technical University (ETU) organized a festival for children with special needs on December 3rd, World Disability Day.
ETU Rector Prof. Dr. Bulent Cakmak, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Ali Fatih Yetim, Prof. Dr. Naim Urkmez, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences Prof. Dr. Birol Soysal, academicians, students and children with special needs attended the event organized by 4th grade students of the Physical Education Department of the Faculty of Sports Sciences to draw attention to the problems of children with special needs and to raise awareness.
In the event held in the ETU Sports Hall, university students organized various activities for children with special needs studying at 23 Nisan Primary School, Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha Primary School and Degisim Special Education Center.
Stating that they organize the festival for children with special needs every year on December 3rd, World Disability Day, Associate Professor Dr. Sevinc Namlı, Faculty of Sports Sciences Academician, said, “We organize this event every year with our students within the scope of the Special Education and Integration course. “Every segment of society needs to do their part to be aware of them and make their lives easier. Because if the world were a garden, each one of them would be a flower in this garden,” he said.
