Mediterranean Basin spanning to our country can be defined as one of the most vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate changes. Ecological deterioration resulting from reduced water resources as a result of the consequences of global warming and drought effect negatively our country that hosts numerous species in terms of endemics. It should not be forgotten that prevention of harm effects of climate changes is possible with measures to be taken not only at regional but also international level because ecosystem is a complete unity. Therefore, the reduction of fossil fuel use and renewable energy support policies are important steps with the supports of all countries.

Our Rector Prof.  Dr. Bülent Çakmak announced that in order to reduce the dependence on abroad for  solar energy technologies as a renewable energy source, which is one of the primary targets of our country as a state policy,  solar cell production infrastructure was established in our high-tech research center and our studies started.
