Erzurum Technical University (ETU) won a double trophy in the University Sports Ice Hockey Championship organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation.

In addition to ETU, teams from Atatürk University, Akdeniz University, Yıldız Technical University, Istanbul University, Istanbul Technical University, Koç University and Middle East Technical University (METU) competed in the championship held at Erzurum Ice Hockey Hall.

In the tournament, which witnessed breathtaking competitions, ETU Ice Hockey Men's team defeated Koç University 18-0 in the semifinals and made its name in the final. Facing Atatürk University in the final, ETU won the gold medal by leaving the breathtaking struggle with a score of 2-1.

Facing METU in the semifinals, ETU Women's Ice Hockey Team was on the winning side and made it to the final. While the name of the final was again ETU and Atatürk University, ETU won the silver medal.

ETU Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak congratulated the Ice Hockey team athletes who returned from the championship with two cups: "As ETU, we compete in many branches in UNILIG. In 2024, almost every team that participated in the tournament returned with a trophy. However, when it comes to winter sports, we were not surprised but proud that Erzurum's two universities made it to the finals in both women and men. I heartily congratulate our athletes once again and wish them continued success."
