The Rector of Erzurum Technical University (ETU), Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak, visited the
Chairman of the Board of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), Omer Cihad Vardan, and
Board Member Prof. Dr. İbrahim Uslan as part of his contacts in Ankara.
During the meeting, potential collaborations were discussed, particularly focusing on
strengthening university-industry cooperation, as well as joint efforts in defense industry,
aviation, and advanced technology fields. The parties emphasized opportunities for
cooperation in research and development activities, training qualified human resources, and
technology transfer.
The visit also addressed the potential contributions of combining ETU’s academic knowledge
and research infrastructure with TUSAŞ’s high-tech production capacity. In this context,
evaluations were made regarding joint projects and sustainable partnerships.
Rector Çakmak expressed his gratitude to the TUSAŞ management for their kind hospitality
and stated that efforts to strengthen university-industry cooperation will continue.
