Students from the Department of Industrial Engineering at Erzurum Technical University’s
Faculty of Engineering and Architecture have been selected for support under the 2025–2026
term of the HAVELSAN SUIT Program, conducted by HAVELSAN, one of Türkiye’s leading
organizations in the defense and advanced technology sectors.
Supervised by Dr. Nadide Çağlayan Özaydın, a faculty member of the Department of
Industrial Engineering, the student team consisting of Deniz Kılıç, Kardelen Çoban, İkbalnur
Özkan, and Sıla Altunsoy was accepted into the HAVELSAN SUIT Program with their
project titled “An Integrated Decision Support Tool Proposal for Disaster Response
Processes.”
The project aims to develop an integrated decision support tool to enhance the speed and
effectiveness of decision-making in post-disaster response processes. By analyzing real-time
data collected from the field through image processing techniques, the system seeks to
classify damage levels and support capacity planning for healthcare needs. The proposed
system is expected to enable more accurate determination of response priorities in disaster
areas, strengthen inter-institutional coordination, and ensure the efficient use of resources.
Integrating decision-making and planning methods into disaster management processes
through an industrial engineering perspective, the project aims to offer a data-driven and
sustainable solution. Within the scope of the HAVELSAN SUIT Program, the students will
receive technical mentorship and sectoral support, providing them with the opportunity to
further develop their project and transform it into an implementable application.
