A research project led by Şeymanur Çobanoğlu, a PhD student in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Erzurum Technical University (ETU), has been approved for funding under the TÜBİTAK 1002-A Rapid Support Program. The project is supervised by Dr. Ayşenur Yazıcı.
The study aims to better understand how antibiotic resistance develops in Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It focuses on specific proteins that may play an important role in resistance and could become future drug targets.
The project will examine, for the first time, the role of BON domain–containing proteins in both free-living bacteria and biofilm structures. The results are expected to help explain biofilm-related antibiotic resistance and support future research on new treatment strategies.
