Damla Kose, who broke the record with her 56 points in the 10-meter air rifle solo women's qualifiers, competed for the gold medal with this result. She lost to her Norwegian opponent Hegg Duestad in the final 15-10 and completed the championship with the silver medal.
Congratulating Damla and the technical team after the championship, ETU Rector Prof. Dr. Bulent Cakmak said: “Damla managed to become the first Turkish female athlete to qualify for the finals in Türkiye’s shooting history. I wholeheartedly congratulate her for bringing this pride to our country and university. Even though we narrowly missed the gold medal, the record is now ours with 56 points. I congratulate our student, who exhibited one of the best examples of work, effort, discipline and success, once again and wish her continued success.”
