A conference on Local Level Disaster Risk Reduction Studies was organized at Erzurum Technical University (ETU).

Many academicians and students attended the conference organized in cooperation with ETU Faculty of Health Sciences, Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality, Erzurum Disaster and Emergency Directorate (AFAD) and Erzurum Fire Department in order to make rational decisions and effective evaluations in disaster situations.

At the conference hosted by ETU, Head of the Department of Emergency Aid and Disaster Management, Faculty of Health Sciences, Assistant Prof. Melikshah Turan gave a speech about international disaster risk management approaches and methods used in risk reduction, while Kadir Muratoğlu, Erzurum AFAD Branch Manager, informed the audience about the risk reduction activities carried out in Erzurum.

In the conference where threats related to disasters were analyzed, Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department Branch Manager Muhammet Bozdemir informed the audience about the management of fire incidents in Erzurum and the plans made, while Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Response and Civil Defense Branch Manager Mustafa Zan and Disaster Coordination Branch Manager Uğur Aras from Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Affairs Department talked about the activities carried out on local level risk reduction issues.
