Occupational Health and Safety Training Provided at ETU

At Erzurum Technical University (ETU), Basic Occupational Health and Safety Training was given to academic and administrative staff.

In order to ensure a healthy and safe working environment at ETU, the Occupational Health and Safety Coordinatorship provided information to academic and administrative staff about occupational health and safety legislation, health and technical issues between 25 May and 16 June 2023.

Speaking at the program, ETU Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak stated that the training was given for all employees on general occupational safety rules and methods of protection from accidents: “The state, employers, trade unions, universities and professional organizations have great duties and responsibilities in the development of occupational safety culture. I believe that with this and similar trainings, our working environment will become healthier and safer. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator and all our trainers, and wish the program to be fruitful for all of us.”

Stating that education is important in terms of creating a culture of occupational health and safety at ETU, Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator Asst. Prof. Dr. Nilüfer Yıldırım: “With the trainings we organized in order to create a healthy and safe work environment at our university and to increase the level of awareness on this issue, our staff had the chance to learn about the occupational risks they face and the measures to be taken against these risks. Lecturer, our education responsible, who put great effort in completing the process without any problems. See. Prof. Dr. İclal Avinç Akpınar and our Vice Rector, who provided us with all kinds of opportunities. Dr. I would like to thank Ceren Sultan Elmalı.”

In the trainings that continue for 3 weeks, the application of the principles of prevention of diseases and prevention techniques from the causes of occupational diseases to the personnel; Theoretical and applied courses were given on many subjects from chemical, physical and ergonomic risk factors to the causes of occupational accidents and the application of protection principles and techniques.
