Strategic Plan Preparation Training for Units Held at ETU

Erzurum Technical University (ETU) Quality Coordination Department provided training on strategic plan preparation for units.

Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Ali Fatih Yetim, Prof. Dr. Ceren Sultan Elmalı and Prof. Dr. Naim Ürkmez and many academic and administrative staff attended the training program held in Prof. Dr. Muammer Yaylalı Conference Hall.

Emphasizing that they will act in cooperation with all units of the university during the institutional accreditation process, ETU Quality Coordinator Prof. Dr. Fatih Yıldırım explained in detail the quality management process based on the Plan-Do-Check-Take Action (PUKO) cycle in his speech and provided comprehensive information to the participants about quality assurance in higher education, education-training policies, program outputs and monitoring and evaluation mechanisms.

Following Yıldırım, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Fatih Yetim, on the other hand, drew attention to the fact that ETU has made significant progress in quality processes and said: “As a mechanical engineer, I want to approach quality processes from an engineering perspective. As you know, a great force is required at the beginning to set an object in motion. However, once the movement begins, the system starts to work with less energy. Quality processes are like this. It is difficult at the beginning, there is resistance, it is not easy to change habits. But once you start moving, things become more fluid. That is where we are. We have now taken action and gained momentum. Great efforts were made at the beginning of this process. It was not easy to overcome static friction. Many of our professors made great efforts in this regard. Together, we carried our university to the accreditation process. Accreditation processes have started in our units and some of our departments have successfully completed them. The steps taken by our Faculty of Engineering and Architecture and our Faculty of Science on this path have become a source of pride for us. We are no longer just walking, we are slowly starting to run. The contribution of our academic and administrative managers is very valuable in this process. Quality is not only the job of the Quality Coordination; it is a process that all stakeholders must support together.” He used the expressions.
