Between 21 and 30 November 2025, at the Kickboxing Senior World Championships held in Abu Dhabi, Dr Cebrail Gençoğlu, Assistant Professor at the Department of Coaching Education, Faculty of Sports Sciences, Erzurum Technical University, secured second place in the 63 kg Kick Light category, successfully representing the university and Türkiye at an international level.

Dr Gençoğlu, who delivered a top-level performance throughout the championship, defeated his Greek opponent in the elimination matches to advance to the next round. Advancing to the semi-finals by defeating his Czech opponent in the quarter-finals, Gençoğlu faced the Hungarian athlete who had won the World Championship in 2023. Despite injuring his hand in the second round of the match, Gençoğlu managed to continue the fight and emerged victorious, advancing to the final.

In the final match, Assistant Professor Cebrail Gençoğlu secured an important ranking for Türkiye by finishing the championship as the world runner-up.
