Erzurum Technical University (ETU) achieved a significant success by being ranked in the top 20 among Turkish universities in the 2025 list of the Nature Index, one of the respected rankings based on scientific publication performance worldwide.
In the report published in 2025 by the Nature Index, an international ranking measure that evaluates the scientific productivity of universities and research institutions based on high-impact factor articles published in the fields of natural sciences, health sciences and basic sciences since 2014, ETU ranked 20th among universities in Turkiye.
Making an evaluation on the subject, ETU Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak stated that the university continues its steady rise and said: “Being ranked 20th among the universities in our country in the Nature Index, which is accepted as one of the respected indexes in the scientific community because it only takes into account qualified publications published in distinguished academic journals, is an extremely valuable development for our university. This success is a result of our quality-oriented academic policies and the strategic vision we implement with determination. The efforts of our academic staff to produce qualified publications, the continuous strengthening of our research infrastructure and the support mechanisms we offer to young scientists form the basis of this rise. Our university has made significant progress not only in terms of the number of publications but also in terms of publication quality. Our studies published in high-impact journals both find a response in the scientific world and increase the international visibility of our university. As Erzurum Technical University, we are moving forward with the aim of growing a research culture that transforms the knowledge it produces into the benefit of society. We will continue our efforts with the same determination to be ranked higher in both national and international criteria in the future. On this occasion, I would like to sincerely thank our academics who contributed to the process and wish them continued success.”
