Erzurum Technical University (ETU) made history in the Nordic Cross-Country Skiing Championship organized under the leadership of the Turkish University Sports Federation.

In the championship held at Kandilli Ski Resort on February 14-15, 2025, ETÜ became the Turkish Champion in both men's and women's categories and won a total of 6 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze medals.

The ETU Men's Team, consisting of Yusuf Emre Fırat, Amed Oğlağo, Yusuf Talay, Civan Kahraman, Muhammet Sait Soyak and Amar Botan Çiçek, managed to become the Turkish Champion by leaving Kafkas University and Van Yüzüncü Yıl University behind in the Nordic Discipline Cross-Country Skiing Championship. The name of the summit did not change in the women's category either. The Women's Team, consisting of Rabia Akyol, Şennur Kartal and Zülfiye Soyarslan, completed the championship ahead of Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University and Middle East Technical University (METU) and achieved victory.

In the men's individual races, ETU students took part in all stages of the podium in the Cross-Country Skiing Classic Style, with Yusuf Emre Fırat winning gold, Amed Oğlağo winning silver, and Civan Karaman winning bronze. In the Cross-Country Skiing Skating Style, Amed Oğlağo winning gold, Yusuf Emre Fırat winning silver, and Civan Karaman winning bronze.

In the women's Classical Style competition, athletes from ETU dominated. Zülfiye Soyaslan won gold, Rabia Akyol won silver, and Şennur Kartal won bronze. In Skating Style, Rabia Akyol won gold and Şennur Kartal won silver for ETU.

ETU Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak, who followed the races on site, congratulated the athletes and presented them with their medals and cups.
