A cooperation protocol was signed between Erzurum Technical University (ETU) and Urmia University in Iran to develop scientific and academic cooperation.

The signing ceremony, held in the Rectorate Meeting Hall, was attended by ETU Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak and Urmia University Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Rezazadeh Bari, as well as senior administrators from both universities.

Within the scope of the protocol, agreements were reached on the exchange of academics and staff, undergraduate and graduate student mobility, sharing of academic information and materials, joint research projects and publications, participation in academic meetings and organization of joint events.

Following the signing ceremony, Rector Çakmak hosted the Iranian delegation at the university's innovation centers, the High Technology Application and Research Center (YUTAM), the Crystal Entrepreneurship Center, and the MUCİTPARK Science and Idea Workshop, and provided information about the projects and research activities carried out in these centers.

Rector Çakmak, making a statement regarding the signed protocol, stated that the cooperation to be established with Urmia University will strengthen academic relations between the two countries and that the protocol is an important step in terms of education, research and cultural interaction.

Urmia University Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Rezazadeh Bari emphasized that the agreement will offer new opportunities for students, academics, and scientific production, and expressed his belief that joint projects will be implemented in a short time.
