Erzurum Technical University (ETU) Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS) has added new academic and project-focused projects to its internationalization vision. Three different projects, coordinated by faculty members, have been accepted and awarded grants under the European Union's Erasmus+ Program.
The projects focus on contemporary requirements such as artificial intelligence, smart tourism, and policy development. The studies, coordinated by Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Daştan and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emirhan Kula, and with Lecturer All Necip Nursoy as project expert, are carried out by Prof. Dr. Gürkan Çalmaşur, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burak Başkan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Demet Ekinci Hamamcı, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Esra Sena Türko, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İkram Yusuf Yarbaşı, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adem Türkmen, Dr. Lecturer Harun Can, Dr. Lecturer Sefa Özdemir, Dr. Lecturer Şamil Şık, Res. Dr. Fatmanur Oral, Res. Burcu Yaşar, Res. Muhammet Mutlu, Res. Rıdvan Akın, and Osman Kızıler.
The project, titled "Smart and Sustainable Tourism for a Fair Future," is being coordinated by the Erzurum Governorate and aims to encourage young people and tourism operators to adopt green and smart tourism practices, increase intercultural collaboration, and develop digital skills. Partners in the project include ETU from Türkiye, the Erzurum Science and Art Association, S.I.D.E.S. APS from Italy, Brussels Education and Development from Belgium, and INDEPCIE SCA from Spain.
The "IMPACT HUB: AI-Powered Youth Participation Model for Inclusive Governance" project, which targets AI-powered youth participation, aims to enable young people's active participation in local government processes through AI-powered simulations and digital tools. The project, in which the Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality is the applicant and ETU is a partner, is a project that aims to ensure the active participation of young people in local government processes through AI-powered simulations and digital tools. Partners include the Comune di Ponte di Piave from Italy, the Alba Iulia Municipality from Romania, and the Kybele Association from France.
The project, titled "Teaching AI to higher education students using an open-source and open-design educational robot (FOSSBot4AI), is being carried out under the coordination of the EPMI higher education institution in France. ETU is collaborating with Politechnika Poznanska from Poland, Harokopio University and GFOSS from Greece, and Atermon B.V. from the Netherlands on the project, which aims to develop an open-source educational robot and virtual simulator.

Commenting on the projects, Dean Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Daştan said, "These projects not only represent academic success, but also offer a concrete educational and collaboration platform aimed at enhancing young people's digital and intercultural competencies. The active participation of our youth in these processes will contribute to the development of future leaders and individuals with innovative thinking."
