Erzurum Technical University (ETU) has been awarded the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental
Management System Certificate as a result of its systematic work in the field of
environmental management and sustainability.
Within the scope of the work carried out by the administrative units under the coordination
of the Quality Coordination Department, practices were implemented under many headings
such as waste management, energy efficiency practices, environmental risk analysis,
compliance processes with legal obligations and strengthening of sustainability policies.
Following the preparation process, ETU received the ISO 14001:2015 certificate upon the
successful completion of the audits conducted by independent organizations.
Commenting on the matter, ETU Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak emphasized the meticulous
work being done in the field of environmental management, saying, "At ETU, we consider
sustainability, environmental responsibility, and efficient use of resources to be among our
strategic priorities. Receiving the ISO 14001 certification is a significant indicator that our
environmental management processes are carried out in accordance with international
standards. He stated, “I sincerely thank all our staff who contributed to this process.”
