Erzurum Technical University (ETU) won a gold and a bronze medal in the University Sports Ice Hockey Championship organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation.

In the championship held at the Erzurum Ice Hockey Hall, ETU, as well as Ataturk University, Akdeniz University, Bogazici University, Istanbul University, Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Koc University, Middle East Technical University (METU) and Yıldız Technical University teams demonstrated their skills on the ice.
In the tournament that witnessed breathtaking competitions, ETU Ice Hockey Women's Team defeated ITU 14-2 in the semi-final match and advanced to the final. Facing Ataturk University in the final, ETU won the match 2-1 and became the Turkish Champion.

ETU Men's Team, who took to the field for 3rd place, defeated its opponent METU 8-1 and won the bronze medal.
ETU Rector Prof. Dr. Bulent Cakmak congratulated the Ice Hockey team athletes and coaches and said: “Last year, we won 1 gold and 1 silver medal in this hall. This year, we are happy to lift the double cup. On this occasion, I once again heartily congratulate our athletes and wish them continued success.”
