With the 'Dress Me Up This Holiday' Project, ETU Made Children Smile

Erzurum Technical University's (ETU) Faculty of Sports Sciences, in collaboration with ETU students, implemented the 'Dress Me Up This Holiday' project, providing clothing and shoe support to children in need.

Under the coordination of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sevinç Namlı from the Department of Physical Training and Sports at the Faculty of Sports Sciences, ETU students provided clothing support to 300 needy children in four schools affiliated with the Palandoken district of Erzurum before the Ramadan holiday, within the scope of the Volunteering Activities Course.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Namli, commenting on the project, expressed that they implement a different project every year within the scope of the course, stating: 'Within this course, we develop various projects with our students every year. This year, we planned to implement the 'Dress Me Up This Holiday' project with our students. Initially, our aim was to dress 40–50 students, with a maximum of 60 students. However, we exceeded the limits, and our project turned into an incredible aid campaign. Our students worked with great dedication for this campaign. Currently, we are dressing 300 students before the holiday. I would like to thank all the ETU family and contributors once again, including our students involved in the project.'

Prof. Dr. Birol Soysal, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences, emphasized the importance of social contribution as one of the most important responsibilities of universities, stating: 'This is an activity that we can evaluate both as a course and as a contribution to society.' As a result, I would like to express my gratitude to Mrs. Sevinç, the course coordinator, and the students. I also want to express my gratitude to all the academic and administrative staff who supported our project.
