Erzurum Technical University (ETU) has added a new one to its collaborations with Tarımsan Engineering Agriculture and Livestock Company.
ETU and Tarımsan Engineering Company, which supplies fertilizers, machinery, seeds, spare parts and agricultural pesticides at international standards, have recently started working in the laboratory opened within the High Technology Application and Research Center (YUTAM) in order to conduct joint scientific research and conduct R&D activities.
With the new protocol signed by ETU Rector Prof. Dr. Bulent Cakmak and Tarımsan Engineering Agriculture and Livestock Company Manager Alper Küçük, it is aimed to produce certified local and national seeds in an 80-hectare area on the ETU campus.
With the studies to be carried out in the determined area, production of seed varieties suitable for the region, demonstration, research and academic studies will be carried out.
Rector Cakmak, who made a statement after the signing ceremony, touched on the importance of local and national seed production and said: “Work has started in the R&D Laboratory that we established in partnership with Tarımsan Engineering Agriculture and Livestock Company in the past months. The work done here is of great importance not only for our city but also for our country. The local and national seeds that will come out of here will be added to our country's economy. On this occasion, I hope that the new protocol we signed will be beneficial,” he said.
