It reached its peak in the Ice Climbing Turkey Championship organized by Erzurum Technical University (ETÜ) University Sports Federation.

In the championship held at Palandöken Ski Center, the Women's and Men's teams achieved great success as a team in the Leader disciplines, became the Turkish Champions and brought the first place trophies to ETÜ.

Sultan Saymaz, a student of the Faculty of Sports Sciences, achieved the best result in the women's leading discipline and won the gold medal, while in the speed category, she placed second on the podium and brought two medals to ETÜ. In the women's speed category, the name of the summit did not change and Kader Yıldız won the gold medal.

While ETU's Miraç Gülrenk won the gold medal in Palandöken in the men's leading discipline, he was on the third step of the podium in the speed discipline. Yusuf Sadi Özbayraktar succeeded in receiving a silver medal in the speed discipline and a bronze medal in the leading discipline.

ETÜ returned with a total of 7 medals from individual competitions in the Ice Climbing Turkey Championship and received the first place trophy in both men's and women's teams as a team.

Ice Climbing Teams Coach Dr. stated that they were very happy with the success achieved. Lecturer Member Selim Asan: “Our students made history here. We will strive to maintain the same success on national and international platforms in the coming period. "I think this success story will inspire other students and athletes and further increase the prestige of our university in the field of sports sciences," he said.
