The aim of the Department is to enable students to study and acquire the knowledge, competence and skills to conduct interdisciplinary research on English literature and culture, and to apply and share the results of their studies in national and international academic and social platforms.

The graduates of English Language and Literature with teaching certificates may become English teachers or lecturers in many state and private schools and universities. Graduates are also able to find jobs which require cultural and literary knowledge, such as those in tourism, ministries, banks, state and private media institutions. They can also work as translators, writers and/or editors. In addition to the positions in secondary schools and academic institutions, they may work at various state and private companies, and international offices and the European Union departments of the ministries.
