YÜTAM Continues to Produce Technology

Erzurum Technical University (ETU) Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak, participated in the Voice of the East Program on TRT Erzurum Radio and explained the ETU High Technology Application and Research Center (YUTAM).

Stating that the installation works of YÜTAM, which started with the support of the Ministry of Development in 2014, were completed and started operations in 2018, ETU Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak stated that YÜTAM, which is established on an area of 4700 square meters, continues to serve as a center where high technology researches are carried out with 2 "Class 1000" clean rooms, 22 research and development (R&D) laboratories, many study offices and training halls. told.

Rector Bülent Çakmak emphasized that YÜTAM, in particular, Erzurum and its region in general, took the development and development of our country in the technological field as a mission and said, “We are carrying out various studies to plan, encourage and develop scientific and technological research that will enable us to compete with the world. At this point, one of the main priorities of our center is to increase the R&D capacity of our country and to reveal technological products with high added value. In this context, we continue to strengthen our university-industry collaborations so that R&D studies can be carried out in ETÜ and production in the industry of the city and the region ”.

Stating that YÜTAM has 6 different working groups on Photonics and Solar Energy, Micro-Nano Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer, Biomaterial Production and Biomechanics, Organic Chemistry, Biotechnology and 2D Materials Research, Rector Bülent Çakmak stated that a project that received 50 million TL support from TÜBİTAK was developed with the Biomaterials Production and Biomechanics working group.

Stating that one of the three stakeholders of this TÜBİTAK-supported project is ETÜ, Rector Bülent Çakmak said that the other partners of the project are Sabancı and Gazi Universities.

Emphasizing that as prestigious instutions of Turkey HAVELSAN and TAI, the giant firms are also involved in the project , Prof. Dr. Bulent Cakmak said they continued to work on the production of three-dimensional metal laser printer in Turkey.
