Our Science Faculty held a conference for 2019 Fuat Sezgin Year. Giresun University Faculty of Arts and Sciences Faculty Member. Dr. Cevdet COŞKUN participated as a speaker at the conference. In his speech, Prof. Dr. Coşkun mentioned Dr. Prof. Dr. Fuat SEZGİN's contribution to the History of Islamic Science and stated that Prof. Dr. Sezgin showed  that Turkish civilization could be reestablished and said: "Eastern scientists in which Fuat Sezgin participated have demonstrated that we are rich in terms of scientific and philosophical thought. This psychology was provided by showing that we can reestablish our own civilization.When we read about his life, we see that he led an excellent life which can affect everone. In his own words, he said, 'I have dedicated my life to defeating the inferiority complex that has infused the people of this land to the bone’.The conference ended with the presentation of gifts to Cevdet COŞKUN by Vice Rector Dr. Prof. Murat KÜÇÜKUĞURLU.
