Prof. Dr Ender Konukçu who worked at Atatürk University, Department of History between 1968 and 2011 and published many books and articles about Erzurum,  passed away. Considered one of Turkey's leading historians, Konukçu donated his unique archive and diaries about Erzurum that he had accumulated over the years to the Erzurum City Archive, which was established within Erzurum Technical University.
