Foreign Language Exemption Exam

Foreign Language Exemption Exam will be held at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences & Faculty of Letters at the date of 09.28.2019 on Saturday at 10.00. Students wishing to take the exam should apply to the Secretariat of Directorate of Foreign Languages School until 26/9/2019 Thursday (Hakan ÖZKAYAGİL-Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences /Floor: 2).

 

Article 6 - (1) Students who enrolled for the first time in the programs whose language of instruction is Turkish are taken the foreign language exemption exam organized by the School of Foreign Languages at the beginning of the fall semester if they demand.Students who wish to take the exam and be exempt from common compulsory foreign language courses must apply to the Directorate of Foreign Languages School within the announced period. Students enrolling for the first time who freeze registration for one year at the beginning of the academic year and those who do not take the exemption exam in the year of registration can take the exemption exam held at the beginning of the next academic year. There is no excuse exam for the exemption exam.

(2) This exam covers the curriculum taught in the fall and spring semesters of common compulsory foreign language courses.

(3) Exemption exam of the Common compulsory foreign language courses is done by the School of Foreign Languages. This exam can be arranged separately upon request of the units.

(4) Following students of Turkish Medium Education program are exempted from the compulsory foreign language courses: a) Students who score at least fifty (50) in the courses of Language I and Language II respectively according to the absolute evaluation process of foreign language exemption exam. b) Students who have an equivalent score corresponding the levels of A1 and A2 from an international foreign language exam within Common European Framework (CEFR) or have a document that certifies his/her success in preparatory classes of another higher education institution c) students who missed, failed from the exam or couldn’t provide any of appropriate conditions must take and pass compulsory Foreign Language I and II courses in order to graduate.
